Have you ever thought about making your tractor wider?

Some of you may have seen this on Facebook yesterday.  We've conquered the animation issue and decided to post it here as well.

Before.

Before.

It turns out that many farm tractors are infinitely reconfigurable in terms of their wheel and axle width to navigate safely among your crop rows without trampling them. An old snowplow for one of our Ford 8Ns was recently purchased only to find the rear wheels were too narrow to attach it. Andy and Jason spent Sunday (supervised by great uncle Francis) jacking up the tractor, removing the wheels (and snapping a valve stem), reversing the hubs, reattaching the one wheel that was not damaged by their ignorance and planning to get the second repaired before the next snow arrives.

Your education is complete. Enjoy.

After...but before the repairs (sigh).
